Should miracles be publicized?
Luke 5: 1-43
The life of Jesus Christ is an example for Pastors that pray for the sick and want it publicized in order to gain more followers. The question here is ‘Should miracles be publicized ?’ According to the Bible “And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway the leprosy departed from him. And he charged him to tell no man: but go thy way, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
”Luke 5:13-14 ASV
https://www.bible.com/12/luk.5.13-14.asv Jesus commanded the Leper to tell no man but only the priest and offer their cleansing rites. This command was initially stated by Moses for leper’s in Leviticus 14:4. In verse 15 however, the great multitude heard of the healing and came to be healed of their infirmities.
Another miracle of healing happened in Luke 5:18-25 ASV
The man sick with Palsy(paralysis) was brought in to be healed and Jesus first told him ‘Man thy sins have been forgiven thee’ and then told him in vs 24 ‘Arise take up thy mat and go into thine house’. He became healed and this miracle was seen by multitudes of people and they glorified God. Another miracle in Luke 18:35-43 ASV https://www.bible.com/12/luk.18.35-43.asv a certain blind man was desperately asking for healing and Jesus said ‘Receive thy sight thy faith hath saved thee’ he became healed and followed Jesus glorifying God.
The people who witnessed this miracle also gave praise to God. The three miracles stated above were handled differently by Jesus Christ. This shows that there is a time to speak and a time to be silent as seen in Ecclesiastics “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:”Ecclesiastes 3:1 ASV
https://www.bible.com/12/ecc.3.1.asv “a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;”
Ecclesiastes 3:7 ASV
https://www.bible.com/12/ecc.3.7.asv The similarities is that God was glorified by the witnesses of the miracle. Is it then still necessary for further publicity about that miracle as seen today on social media and TV broadcasts? From what we have read it isn’t necessary at all. Please send your comments
